Adjustment of quantities and completion of final
statement of account in connection with the New
Law Courta.
Two contracts are involved, both of which were lot to the
same Contractor, Chan A Tong. The contracts are:-
(1). The superstructure, exclusive of all timberwork except
such as had to be fixed during the erection of the
building. This contract included the drainage work.
(11). Joinery, Fittings, &c., including the whole of the
timber finishings and fittings, wall and floor tiling,
plastering, glazing, do.

(a). Having regard to the fact that quantities were taken
out for (1) and (ii) when tenders for the contracts were invited
and that any alterations made in the building have been of a
limited nature, what would you consider a reasonable time to
allow for the adjustment of such quantities and completion of
the final statement, assuming that the officer who had been in
charge of the work throughout devoted his whole time to such
adjustment, &c.?
(b). Do you consider that the adjustment is being carried
out in a proper manner and that full use is being made, so far
as it is possible to do so, of the quantities originally taken
out?
